Interestingly perhaps its video convert format can upsize FHD to 4K Photofunstudio is currently at v 10.1 PE for the G9 (not the AE version nb) this will handle all the older Lumix I have e.g. I do have older standalone versions of Photoshop and Lightroom, along with up to date Silkypix and DxO-Photolab. My desktop may be a few years old but is still powerful even compared to latest offerings but DxO-PLe is slow to load and run, not efficient.ĭxO-PLe is not intended as a full-on photo editor but to swap in and out of the likes of Lightroom (which I am not fond of because it is subscription and I cannot justify the monthly rental). Hmm - DxO Photolab Elite looks modern but the update installer is antique and prone to falling over. If only Silkpix had some actual English instructions, and/or tutorials, they'd have more users.Īs I said before - I'd like to like DXO, as it is more mainstream, but I can't. I came from Nikon's Capture NX programs, so Silkypix wasn't that weird to me. Something Photofunstudio can do when used to download is concatenate the heavy duty video files correctly, the G9 does need the PE 10.1 version now. I do tend to set up and shoot "for the jpeg" and like to have the jpeg up for comparison when editing raw. Like OM Workspace it will try to emulate the setting used for the jpeg, with the others we get a bit of a guess or diy. Photolab Elite 6 makes a good fist of it but cannot do everything. The thing with Silkypix is it is one that converts the Panasonic raw correctly, I believe ISL is involved in writing the firmware "Venus engine" for Panasonic and maybe Fuji too.Īdobe conversion can be abysmal. Silkypix Developer Studio Pro 11 is a bit weird, Tastes are hidden in View/Sub-controls when you might expect them in Edit or Tools. DXO reserved for the occasional high ISO job. I have DXO Photolab 6, and keep trying to like it, but still come back to Silkypix for the detail in whites/highlights. The, free for Panasonic, SE version is still gets new cameras first though. Mine had a few annoying gremlins (forgot tastes) that were never going to be fixed. The Studio Pro 11 for Panasonic had no updates. I paid up for the full, all makes, version, in the end, when they had an offer. The full version does have more features than the Panasonic-only version and the freebie. Latest version 11.0.10.0 as of 29JUN2023 Silkypix Developer Studio Pro full version (all cameras). Vintage 1953 & wackymoomin edited this topic 17 months ago. Silkypix are doing an offer on Developer Studio Pro 11 for Panasonic (only) at the moment.
